Nexus provides round-the-clock hospitalisation for unstable, recovering or critically ill patients for continuous monitoring and treatment after an emergency. Our dedicated team is on-site 24/7, and your pet is never without care.
Not all general practices are set up for overnight supervision. That’s where Nexus can help. We bridge the gap by providing 24/7 on-site care, so your pet has continuous support when your regular vet can’t be there.
We work with general practice vets to provide extra support. If your pet isn’t well enough to go home but doesn’t need a specialist, we offer a safe, supervised environment until they’re stable.
Our focus is on keeping pets stable, comfortable and safe as they recuperate. If your pet needs hospitalisation with us, they’ll be monitored the whole time. We’ll also give them any necessary pain relief or supportive care like IV fluids or oxygen therapy.
Some pets just need a bit more time before they’re ready to go home. The calm, controlled environment at Nexus helps them regain their strength safely so they can get back to their loved ones quickly.
Where possible, we encourage visits so you spend time with your pet. We know that the comfort and reassurance that only an owner can offer can actively support a pet’s recovery.
Pets are family, so it’s natural to feel anxious when they’re unwell. While it’s easier said than done, try not to worry too much. The Nexus team will keep you updated with calls or texts and you will be the first to know if anything changes.
When will your pet come home? To be discharged, one of our vets will complete a thorough check to ensure your pet’s vitals are stable, their pain is well-managed, and they’re eating and drinking normally.
You will never leave Nexus without a clear plan. We’ll walk you through everything you need to know, including medications, activity limitations and when you should follow up with your regular vet.

Dr Gosliga, THANK YOU for your tender care. My 14 year old rescue, Maya, had suddenly become very ill and the diagnosis was sepsis leading to organ failure. You discussed the treatment options in a compassionate way. We agreed on supportive care to improve her comfort, and then taking her to familiar surroundings for euthanasia at home. We miss Maya so much, but the quality of her last hours were in no small part due to your quick willingness to lend what helpful support you could.
