When your pet is unwell, being stuck on hold or explaining everything to a receptionist can feel frustrating and pointless. Nexus can connect you directly to a clinical professional who can offer fast advice, no delays.
Whether it’s unusual symptoms, an injury or a sudden change in behaviour, our nurses listen, ask the right questions and assess your concerns to help you figure out what to do next.
If we think your pet needs emergency care, we’ll say so. and if we believe it’s safe to wait, we will give you direction on what to watch for, as things can change rapidly.
Some symptoms can’t wait. Difficulty breathing, seizures, collapse, uncontrolled bleeding or sudden severe pain always require immediate veterinary attention. If your pet shows any of these signs, come straight in. No need to call.
If your pet’s situation is more complex, our nurses can consult with a vet to ensure they provide you with the best advice. This ensures you get the right level of expertise before making any decisions.
While we can’t diagnose or treat over the phone, we can help you understand the potential seriou
sness of the situation so you can act with confidence.
We don’t believe in guesswork when it comes to pet health. Our nurses provide honest insights based on experience.
Our nurse hotline is not a telehealth consultation or a substitute for a vet visit. While we can’t diagnose or prescribe treatment over the phone, we can assess urgency, offer reassurance and guide you on when emergency care really is needed.
Every pet and situation is unique. That’s why our nurses take the time to understand all your concerns and then offer tailored support rather than generic information.
If you’re wondering whether your pet’s symptoms warrant veterinary attention, chances are you should at least make contact for some reassurance. Nexus is here for you.

Dr Gosliga, THANK YOU for your tender care. My 14 year old rescue, Maya, had suddenly become very ill and the diagnosis was sepsis leading to organ failure. You discussed the treatment options in a compassionate way. We agreed on supportive care to improve her comfort, and then taking her to familiar surroundings for euthanasia at home. We miss Maya so much, but the quality of her last hours were in no small part due to your quick willingness to lend what helpful support you could.
