When a pet needs emergency surgery, every minute counts, and so does the environment in which it occurs. Our dedicated vet surgical suite is designed specifically for these moments, with the equipment, expertise, and focus needed to act quickly and cautiously.
At Nexus, we don’t perform elective procedures. Surgeries here are unplanned, time-sensitive, and often critical; from abdominal blockages to internal bleeding to emergency wound repairs. That’s why we’ve created a fully sterile theatre with advanced monitoring, high-level anaesthetic care, and a composed, highly trained team that specialises in urgent procedures.
While you won’t be in the room during surgery, you’ll never be out of the loop. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way, and once your pet is stable, you’ll be there to offer the comfort only you can give.
Our surgical suite is separate, sterile and built with intention. It’s a space designed to support deep concentration and clinical precision.
There are no visual distractions here. Just the essentials for your pet’s safety: cautery, ventilators, advanced anaesthetic monitors and equipment on par with human operating theatres.
But technology alone doesn’t save lives. Our team is what sets this suite apart. Our vets and nurses here are specifically trained to operate under pressure, not just on healthy pets, but on those in unstable, critical condition. From pre-op planning to pain relief and real-time monitoring, every step is deliberate, skilled and deeply considered.
While you can’t be in the surgical suite, you’ll never be excluded from the process. Our team communicates openly and compassionately before, during, and after your pet’s procedure. We’ll speak with you immediately if anything unexpected arises and walk you through the next steps.
Once your pet is stable, you’ll be reunited in a settled recovery space. Your familiar and reassuring voice and presence can be a powerful comfort as they begin to wake and heal. We’ll talk you through what comes next: aftercare, follow-ups, and what to keep an eye on at home.
This isn’t just about surgery; it’s about trust, timing, and doing everything possible to support your pet’s recovery, with you close by.
Dr Gosliga, THANK YOU for your tender care. My 14 year old rescue, Maya, had suddenly become very ill and the diagnosis was sepsis leading to organ failure. You discussed the treatment options in a compassionate way. We agreed on supportive care to improve her comfort, and then taking her to familiar surroundings for euthanasia at home. We miss Maya so much, but the quality of her last hours were in no small part due to your quick willingness to lend what helpful support you could.
