Mel

Mel discovered emergency and critical care while rotating through a specialty hospital early in her nursing career. Her calm nature and ability to make quick, confident decisions made the ICU feel like the right place to be. She’s passionate about bringing together compassion and clinical skill in emergency settings, and finds real fulfilment in helping patients while supporting families through some of their hardest moments.

Calm, collaborative care

Mel believes that emergency nursing is never a solo effort. She knows the best care comes from teamwork, empathy and the ability to deal with pressure. She’s proud of the advanced technical skills she’s gained in specialty practice and she values ongoing learning. Outside of work, Mel enjoys spending time with her furry and scaley family, getting outdoors and competing in roller derby.
